About Hristina Dimova, L.Ac.

Hristina Dimova holds a Master of Science in Oriental Medicine and is NCCAOM Board Certified. She completed advanced training at Guangzhou University of Chinese Medicine in China and clinical rotations at John H. Stroger Hospital in Chicago, where she treated complex cases across pain management, internal medicine, and women's health. She has been in clinical practice for over 11 years.

First Acupuncture Appointment

Your first appointment runs about 60 to 75 minutes. Hristina starts with a thorough intake that covers your health history, current symptoms, lifestyle, and treatment goals. This includes a traditional Chinese medicine assessment - pulse diagnosis, tongue observation, and palpation of relevant areas - to identify the underlying pattern driving your symptoms.

You will receive treatment during your first visit. Most patients notice a shift during or immediately after their first session, whether that is reduced pain, a sense of deep relaxation, improved sleep that night, or a quieting of the nervous system that lingers for days.

Follow-up sessions are 45 to 60 minutes. Hristina will recommend a treatment plan based on your condition, but a typical course starts at one to two visits per week and tapers as your symptoms improve. Most patients begin seeing meaningful results within four to six sessions.
